Sindicato Cigars Rated Best of 2014

January 19, 2015

We’re pleased and very excited to announce a few fantastic ratings from notable bloggers for our Sindicato Natural and Sindicato Maduro. See our ratings and writeups below and be sure to choose a Sindicato the next time you walk into your cigar lounge humidor.

#1 Sindicato Natural
Casa Fumando’s Top 10 Cigars of 2014

“I have only smoked a couple great cigars this year and the Sindicato by Sindicato Cigars is one of those. Actually, this may be the very best I have had this year. I was caught off guard with how much I enjoyed this absolute treat. The cigar burned for over an hour with a wavy burn that was of no concern, producing a salt and pepper ash that held over an inch, and copious amounts of smoke poured out of the cigar with each draw. While the flavors may not have been necessarily unique on their own, it was the perfect balance of the those flavors that is something not commonly seen. Even with a price over $10 for the Corona Gorda, I highly recommend this stick.”

#6 Sindicato Maduro
Casa Fumando’s Top 10 Cigars of 2014

“The Sindicato Maduro carries a premium price tag of just under $13, but it is completely justified by the experience received. The buttery flavor and texture of the smoke sat easy on the palate meshing well with the toasted popcorn and pepper spice, rounded out by the ever-evolving sweetness. From the first third to the very end, the flavors were right around the full arena complimenting the medium/full strength.”

#5 Sindicato Natural Corona Gorda
Cigar Dojo’s Top 10 Cigars of 2014

“Sindicato Cigars made their way into the cigar scene in 2013, debuting three cigar lines that were met with a fair amount of buzz, considering the brand had been created by some of the big players in the cigar retail industry. For this year, Sindicato introduced their flagship cigar, an eponymously named Nicaraguan puro featuring a gorgeous display. With a box press, closed foot, and intricately crafted pigtail cap, this is an impressive cigar to hold, luckily the flavors held up their end of the bargain! We like to think of this as a dessert stick, with flavors best described as Graham crackers, cinnamon rolls, and cedar, thrown into one! In our experience, the Corona Gorda vitola performed leaps and bounds ahead of any other size in the line, we strongly recommend it when trying this cigar.”

#25 Sindicato Maduro Magnum
Seth’s Humidor’s Top 25 Cigars of 2014

“I am really impressed with the Sindicato Maduro and I believe it is a terrific follow up to the Sindicato which was launched earlier this year. As expected, it is a great blend from Casa Fernandez. They are a company that knows how to properly use Mexican San Andres wrappers, and because of that I think this is one of the best Mexican wrappers released this year. It is also a great maduro in the sense that it is not too strong, and it also shows transitioning and depth from third to third. This is a fairly complex cigar and it is a cigar that grows in body, flavors and strength the further into the cigar you get. I like a cigar that grows, and not a cigar that is very powerful to begin with and then takes a couple steps back. The Sindicato Maduro produced this great cocoa, coffee and rich earth flavor profile, and it was always very smooth. I smoked the Magnum, which is a 60, so it is going to be cooler overall, but given that the rest of the smokes are in the mid to high 50 ring gauge as well, those will be smooth too. This was not only a terrific release from Sindicato, but a terrific 60 ring gauge cigar. I am giving this a 92 rating and look forward to exploring the line further.”
